Cherie Rose The name Cherie Rose is synonymous
with opulent and eclectic designs. Her distinctive
furniture, exotic silk bedding, and sassy designs
represent high style and elegant living. A devoted
mother of four, Cherie began her career as a
paperhanging contractor in 1982. Her first store,
Hang-ups, offered wallpaper, flooring, and window
treatments. After achieving her General Contracting
License in 1985, she further developed the business to
include interior design. She has been a licensed
certified interior designer since the inception of the
National Council for Interior Design Qualification
(NCIDQ) exam in 1991.
The Rose Collection emerged
in 1991 with its first location in the Willow Glen area
of San Jose and expanded to include a stunning array of
furniture
that showcased endless
combinations of styles, materials, finishes and upholstery
selections. In 1996, after a devastating fire consumed the
store, The Rose Collection reopened in its' current Los Gatos
location.
In April 2003, Cherie single handedly
created "The Cherie Rose Collection” and in January 2004 the
wholesale division of The Cherie Rose Collection was
introduced to the western United States at the San Francisco
Furniture Market. She had her international debut in High
Point, North Carolina, at the April 2004 International Home
Furnishings Market where she received her industry's highest
award, the National Home Furnishings Association Retailer of
the Year 2004. This prestigious award recognizes Cherie's
outstanding contributions to the home furnishing industry, her
community involvement and substantial business achievements.
Cherie is currently developing her fall silk bedding
collection and will premier her coordinate lingerie at a
fashion bedding show to be held September 28, 2006 at La
Hacienda Inn, in Los Gatos, CA.
The development of
Cherie's first book, Sex and Silk, is currently underway and
will feature client's bedrooms designed by Cherie Rose using
her silk fabrics to enhance their life of romance.
Cherie has received numerous design awards from the
Interior Design Society (IDS) including; Outstanding Lifetime
Achievement, Best Silicon Valley Lifestyle Design and 1st
place in the category of Best Bonus Room Design. In addition,
she has been featured in many local and national publications.
Cherie is past President for the Western Home
Furniture Association (WHFA) and currently on the Executive
board of the National Home Furnishing Association. (NHFA).
Cherie is a Professional Member of American Society of
Interior Designers (ASID) and Interior Design Society (IDS),
the design industry’s highest level of certification for an
Interior Designer.
